Sprouting Wheat berries for Sprouted Wheat Berries

Sprouting wheat berries take 2-3 days to sprout, just enough so that a tail is sticking out of the berry. Sprouting wheat berries increase the density of nutrients in the kernel as a whole significantly.

Nutritional Boost

According the studies, the content of vitamin E increases 300%, of vitamin C – 600%, and the content of vitamin B becomes 1000% higher. The content of vitamin B-17 known for its prevention of cancer is 100% higher than in un-sprouted seeds.
Aside from these vitamins listed, the other properties and vitamins in the wheat berry are also increased.

As you eat them you can feel the energy of the berries, it is truly a significant change and the energy that you get from them is so refreshing and revitalizing to the body.

How to Sprout

You first need to rinse them really well, 2-3 times, then you let them soak in water for 8-12 hours. After the soak, rinse them again a couple of times, then you can but them in a container, something that is glass, ceramic, or anything that you think that will work, and that will receive ventilation, air flow, you can even wrap them in a clean cloth, and place it over a container that has something to drain it. People usually use a mason jar with a screen over the top and tipping the jar downwards at a angle with a bowl on the bottom to catch the remaining water that is on them.
Ventilation is key. The only way they will sprout faster is with ventilation.

You then will soak them with water and rinse them again each day and leave them in the container that you have chosen, up until the third day.

By the second day you should see a small tail sticking out, but by the third it will have a longer tail.
Depending on how it looks the second day, you can stop there , but if you want it to be a bit longer then go for the third day.

You can then store them in the refrigerator for 3-5 day, or more, depending on how they stay clean.

Continued Sprouting...

This picture above illustrates the pure beauty of the grain that we all eat and consume daily but if you didn't already know this, which a lot of people don't know is that the amazing wheat grass, is grown from wheat berries. Amazing right? You wont have to spend so much money on buying wheat grass if you already do, if you just grow them in your own home.

I won't include it on this article but it takes ten full days for the wheat grass to be ready to be eaten. You basically just continue the rinse and soak at least once a day, but they must be leveled out on some kind of container or object surface that can be soaked and rinsed without to much struggle, usually like a tray with holes will work best, Or you can grow them in a pot like a plant.

A huge tip just to say you a lot of time in research is that they will catch a white mold on the bottom near the roots. This is completely normal, that mold is air borne, it's not because your wheat grass is bad, trust me.

To avoid prevent this, the healthiest way to keep your wheat grass clean without using a chemical spray bottle is to use a small solution of water mixed with a teaspoon of baking soda. The baking soda is a natural cleaner and disinfectant. This is what I did and it stopped the growth of mold and prevents the mold from occurring. If you want to be cheap and not purchase a clear spray bottle, just use a water bottle, water filled half way with one tea spoon of baking soda, and poke a hole in the top, and there's your spray bottle.

How to Consume Sprouts and my Experiences

To consume these, you should boil them for 45- 50 minutes or an hour. Then you can use them in what ever dish you want.

Cooking them on the stove with oil and Himalayan salt gives them a amazing taste that you must try for yourself, so simply, yet so delicious.

If you are going to eat the raw, I suggest you don't because they are not in a state to be eaten like that. Even if you are someone that eats a all raw food diet, please do not eat these raw. The reason why is because the have a high amount of phytic acid in them and they will cause your teeth to ache and dissolve. Phytic acid takes the minerals and calcium that hold up your teeth, which prevents your teeth from receiving minerals from the foods you eat. You want to avoid this. Even after you boil them for an hour you still want to cook them on the pan, or toast them, or instead of boiling them, you can grind them to make sprouted wheat flour.

Please use caution if you are going to try and eat them raw or after boiling, and do a test on how your teeth feel. If you start to feel pain in your teeth, remember what I said. It is not a pleasant ache either, It feels worse than a sugar tooth ache.

Don't let that discourage you from eating this amazing grains, just make sure they are cooked fully and enjoy the benefits of them.

I hope this article provided useful information and some new found knowledge that you gained from reading this, and are encouraged to give these a try in your diet.
